After your roadtrip in to Newport Beach, it’s time to pick what’s for dinner. You most likely won’t be up for cooking yourself so here are some ideas of where to eat so you can enjoy your first night in town.

If you’re new to the coast, you might be craving some seafood. Good news! That’s easy to come by around here. You can try Bayside Restaurant right near the harbor and enjoy Surf & Turf while listening to some Jazz music. If it’s early in the day, go for brunch! Bayside hosts a rotating modern art exhibit as well so you can admire creative pieces during your visit. You can also go to Newport Landing which overlooks the Balboa Ferry and Newport Harbor. They have a nice selection of seafood with an Oyster Bar and great specials throughout the week.

If you’re in the mood for Mexican, try SOL Mexican Cocina. This Baja-style restaurant on the water has upscale cuisine with a casual setting. Live music is enjoyed on select days and they have brunch on the weekends. Or go straight to Cabo Cantina to start your vacation with a Mega Margarita and street tacos while party hits play on the jukebox. For Italian food, the Original Mama D’s Italian Kitchen has all the traditional favorites and is a very popular family restaurant in the area.

If you feel like dressing up, A Restaurant boasts being “Classically Hip Since 1926” with leather booths and classic American dishes. Reservations are recommended but your evening here will not disappoint!

After dinner, take a walk down by the water before returning to your Newport Beach vacation rental. Get some rest, and pick a new restaurant tomorrow!
