All Aboard the Balboa Peninsula Trolley
This summer the Balboa Peninsula Trolley makes it a little easier for you and your family to get to the beach and all around Balboa Peninsula. The newest addition is a free and safe public transportation service for locals and visitors of Newport Beach. The Balboa Peninsula Trolley hours are 7:30 AM to 9:30 PM and will start on Saturday, June 17th and will run every Saturday and Sunday until September 3rd, 2017. Stay in one of our Newport Beach vacation rentals and either walk or use the trolley to get to the beach!
City Councilwoman Diane Dixon proudly cut the ceremonious ribbon outside of Balboa Peninsula on June 16th. The community's voices have been heard and local government put the people's requests into action. In 2015 a study was conducted by the City's Community Development Department and they concluded that a trolley system was necessary for Newport Beach. After a few years of planning, designing, and funding work the Balboa Peninsula Trolley is here!

The Balboa Peninsula Trolley starts at the Hoag Hospital parking lot and continues to Balboa Blvd and ends at the Balboa Pier. It then turns around and loops back just it way it came ending at the Hoap hospital parking lot. There will be a total of 4 trolleys running and you can expect a trolley at each stop every 15 minutes. The entire trolley loop will make 18 stops. There are plenty of approved items that you can bring along on the trolley such as bikes, surfboards 6 feet and under, beach chairs, folded up umbrellas, and even luggage bags.
